Therapy for Infertility & Loss

We bereaved are not alone.
We belong to the largest company in all the world;
the company of those who have known suffering.

Therapy for Infertility

A journey through infertility is often punctuated by the loneliness. Friends, family, and community don’t often recognize the ups and downs of hope mixed with reoccurring disappointments, medical interventions, and financial strains that become part of a daily experience. It may also include unexpected reminders which can trigger waves of emotions at unexpected times.

Infertility journeys may include IVF, IUI, and other medical treatments, surrogacy, adoption, among others.

Common themes in therapy may include:

  • coping with uncertainty or the rollercoaster of hope and disappointments

  • isolation from support, including relationship strains

  • physical impacts and complex emotions

Therapy for Pregnancy Loss

If loss has been a part of your parenthood journey, your emotions and experiences are welcome in the therapy space. Whether it is trauma healing, telling your story, navigating grief or finding coping skills to bring support in suffering- your story matters.

Loss may be related to:

  • miscarriage

  • pregnancy termination

  • TFMR (termination for medical reasons)

  • still birth

  • infant death

Pregnancy loss sometimes includes disenfranchised grief, which is grief not commonly recognized by larger societal norms. Pregnancy losses, in any form, are real and valid. Your story and your grief deserves a space to be held and witnessed.
